The founders of Got Braffed have a conversation not about the merits of Gregg Araki's films, but whether or not they are Braffing you. It is an unlikely beginning to the great Braffing debate, however an important pivot-point in truly understanding the question, "Have I been Braffed?"
T1: Gregg Araki. Braff. So much to be said about that.
T2: Hahaha. Indeed.
T1: I'm personally offended at The Araki Braff. Really really offended.
T2: Araki is going to try to both Braff you and blow you. He will only succeed at one of them.
T1: Indeed. But his aim is clearly to Braff. Luckily the only thing he's trying to sell us is being useless to society.
T2: Its a tough call. He's Braffing us, but in a way much edgier than his contemporaries. Its a marginal Braffing.
T2: To be a true Braff, you have to try. The question is, before Mysterious Skin, could you really accuse Araki of trying?
T1: Of course!
T2: Then there you have it. Gregg Araki is both braffing and blowing the shit out of you.
T2: Here is my qualm, however. Can Araki really be accused of being inauthentic?
